Sharon has grown up in Chester with dogs and can’t remember a time when she hasn’t either been caring for, grooming, breeding or simply enjoying a dogs company.

It all started when her parents started breeding German Shepherd Dogs back in the 60s. Sharon’s Dad, Dave, had a good command of dog training and showing and Sharon soon picked this up at a very young age winning regular junior dog handling contests in the show world.

Sharon then went in to partnership with her parents under the affix ‘Sharwin’ and they started to breed and show Yorkshire Terriers in Chester. Their coats required the highest demand of maintenance and together they successfully campaigned several champions for over 10 years.

Some 20 years ago, Sharon decided to make a full time vocation of her grooming talents and launched Top Dog Groomers Chester from her home address in Hoole.

Having left a successful company as a Personal Assistant, her organisational skills were soon put to work and in a very short time, Sharon started to attract customers as far as Anglesey, North Wales.

During these early years, Sharon also became the proud owner of Zeta, a white standard poodle and successfully showed her too for a few years. Sharon is quite honest in stating that once you can groom a poodle, you can groom any dog.

Sharon works alone as she always puts quality before quantity. Her promise to have the dogs’ welfare at the centre of everything she does is only possible by being the only groomer in the salon. Sharon provides a very personal and bespoke service. Her attention to detail, enthusiasm and quality in what she delivers is testament to her commitment and dedication to dogs.

Sharon now offers a bespoke Daycare and Holiday Boarding for her customers, which is fully licensed by the Chester Council.  

Sharon lives and grooms at home in Hoole, Chester now with her parents and her son Nathan and their Hungarian Vizsla, Bodie.
